You can certainly experiment with other ingredients, but it will alter the final taste and texture of your ice cream. Half & Half has the right amount of fat that will make your ice cream flavorful, creamy, and smooth.

Your pantry! The mixes are dry, so they have a naturally long shelf life. Place your pint in the back of the freezer where it's the coldest. Make sure your freezer is the right temp (0-10 degrees is ideal) and not stuffed, as fast freezing requires sufficient air flow.

You could use a stand mixer - anything with a whisk attachment because it will incorporate air into the mixture. Blenders and food processors don't incorporate air, they pulverize and blend, so they won't work as well. Most people don't own an ice cream maker, and we made our recipe to not need one, but it does work well. We recommend making 2 pints worth at a time since ice cream makers usually have the capacity.
